i just got this new dog a (havanese) and she has a spot on her leg where it looks as if she got shaved, and there is a faided red spot vet thinks it COULD be ringworm but it not sure without a test but a test cost 50$ and i have no way of paying 50$ for a test and then if its is ringworm paying more for it(short on cash). the breeder says none of her dogs have any signs and that its just a spot where she got hurt somehow. is there any over the counter ointoment for ringworm i can buy for her( that wont hurt her) just in case it is ringworm.(better safe than sorry) i have other pets and a 2 year old i have to worry about i dont need any of them getting this fungus.oh and if i do give her meds when will she be safe to go around? thanks!!

Our newly adopted dog has a hot spot and I was wondering if the medication for ringworm was effective on hot spots?
Our vet is closed until tommorrow and we have some meds from ringworm(unopened) leftover from a dog we fosterd. Just wondered if it would help.
We live in the country and our E-vet says it’s not an emergency and it will wait till tommorrow-just trying to provide him some relief until then.

I noticed the other day that my friend’s daughter has this ringworm-like patch on her arm. So I asked my friend about it and she said that it shouldn’t be contagious anymore because her daughter has been on meds for 3 weeks. Is this true? I watch her 4 days a week while my friend is at work so it’s not like I can just keep her away but I am still woried about my son. Should I be?
