Treatment of Ringworm
1. If infection is suspected, it is important to see a doctor.
2. Get the right medicine. Ringworm on the scalp requires a prescription oral anti fungal medication. Ringworm on the feet and body may be treatable with over-the-counter creams containing anti fungal ingredients (such as those used to treat athlete’s foot or jock itch–eg., clotrimazole). 3. If no improvement, seek further medical advice. If following the directions on the product yields no improvement after the usual 2-4 weeks, go to a dermatologist.
