by ring worm are u referring to that skin infection we get, that we call as ringworm? if YES, it is not a worm at all. it is actually a fungal infection called tinea corpora, caused by the dermatophyte that feeds on skin’s keratin. there are three types of dermatophytes, Microsporon, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton. the first two being the most common in skin infections. these are actually fungi, eukaryotic cells. they are multicellular, forming asexual spores called microconidia and macroconidia, therefore being called imperfect fungi. fine?
