I know that bleach is really the best way but we can’t bleach all of our colors and most of our laundry is color… Also, we are doing the lime sulfur dip for the cats but I want to know any other ideas to speed things along. Thanks a million!

Clorox bleach for colors. Bleach and water for your floors. Make sure you rinse well.

Sunshine helps get rid of the spores as well.

I treated our cat with a 2% solution of miconazole (cost me $8 at Walmart, the generic is called Miconazole, the brand name is Monistat-3 checkthe labels, they’re the same as the $21 tube the vets sell). It took a month to get rid of it on the cat, I didn’t wash or bleach anything – and he didn’t give it to any of the other cats.

Tip–do not scrub when you work the area, handle it gently, so as not to spread the spores out further. I dabbed on the Miconazole three times a day. We saw new hair growth in a week, and a full recovery in 4 weeks.
