Contrary to popular belief, ringworm is not actually a worm. It’s a fungus. Fungi thrive in dark, warm, moist places which explains how men get jock itch.
You can use any over the counter cream such as Lotrimin and it should clear up.
Side effects usually occur if you’re allergic to an ingredient, but you shouldn’t have to worry if you don’t have allergies to the medication since it’s a topical cream.
Keep the area dry with cornstarch or powder and shower daily (although i’d recommend twice daily).
Don’t scratch or touch other areas of the body after touching the fungus, or it’ll spread.
