Shelley D asked:
If I scratch my body and I might possibly have ringworm, can I get ringworm of the scalp if I scratch my head? Or is that two different thing?

Shelley – Yes, both are caused by a fungus called Tinea. On the body, the condition is called Tinea corporis; on the scalp it is known as Tinea capitis. Both are successfully treated with topical ointment or medicine. Avoid scratching which can help spread the infection.
Actually both are not treated with ointment, if you get ringworm on your scalp you have to take an oral medicine that you will need to get from your doctor. So check up on this, and try not to touch your scalp. My daughter had ringworm on her scalp years ago and overnight she had a bald spot the size of a quarter. I was lucky to see a doctor who knew that no creams or shampoos would help.
