It can take a couple weeks. You need to keep using the medication until it is completely gone and then for a week after that (to ensure that it is completely gone and won’t come back).

No to the nail polish, bleach, swimming.

You have been given the best treatment – ringworm just is stubborn

Docotrs would usually prescribe oral antifungal medications for those persistent infections. It may take another week for it to clear. Ask your dr. about it.

This is a pretty good article about getting rid of ringworm on your pets:

Iodine will work the same on humans, it has a disinfecting and drying-out effect that “smothers” the fungus and doesn’t allow it to spread. If you aren’t seeing results with the medication you’re using, you could always try the method described in the article. It’s simple and inexpensive (involves a bottle of iodine, cotton swab, and maybe some bandages to keep it covered). Good luck!

if your dr confirmed it is ringworm with a biopsy – then all you can do is finish the medication and hopefully it will go away. I tried tea tree oil, garlic, bleach and nailpolish to no avail – it kept spreading all over my neck and chest. After 2 weeks i went to a dermatologist and he did a biopsy – i was then diagnosed with pityriasis rosea which has no cure, but luckily is not contagious. I would recommend the tea tree oil – quite a few people got good results with it and you can find in the vitamin aisle at your local grocery store
