For ringworm on a human, use Selson Blue shampoo on the spot, works great. Not sure about a kitten though, I would call the vet.
You will probably have to get medicine from the vet for your kitty. Don’t give human medicine to your kitten because it could make her very sick.
If the ringworm is not in your hair or scalp, you can try antifungal ointment from the drugstore. If it is in your hair or scalp or if the ointment doesn’t work, you will need to see your doctor.
I found a site that said to use apple cider vinegar (or probably any vinegar — I imagine the apple cider so the smell won’t be so bad) and dab it on the animal (and human) with a cotton ball and the infection disappears in about a week. Vinegar changes the PH balance of the skin and the fungus cannot grow and spread
You need to go to a Doctor and get medication, I don’t think there is a home remedy. There are great creams your Doctor can prescribe for you. Don’t let it go too long or it will spread and get out of control.
You all need to be medicated at the same time or there’s no sense to it. You may need a separate med to do the scalp, ask the doc.
My step daughter got it and we tried an anti fungal treatment first and nothing happened. I read all over the internet and finally found something that worked. It was warm water and salt or even better sea salt. It improved 80% over night. I placed the warm wet paper towel with salt on it on the area for about thirty seconds, then I taped a piece of gauze over it. All the redness and oozing (sorry gross I know) went away. It took less then a week to disappear completely. But don’t be fooled you must keep treating it for two weeks after it is gone or else it will come back. Also don’t come in contact with any animals and don’t let anyone touch or get near the infected area or else they could get it. Good luck.
