you either need to give the pills or get the oral liquid. Ringworm requires an oral med to get rid of.

Missx,
The only way to treat ringworm is through your veterinarian. It is a nasty fungal condition,( has nothing to do with worms) that is contageous to humans as well as other animals to which your kitten may have contact. Please wash your hands carefully after handling your kitten.

There are external medications that can be used, but you need to get it from your vet. Human medications are not appropriate for cats in most cases. Please talk to your vet about your concerns.

Here is some excellent information about ringworm in cats:

Hope this helps,

Ask the vet for some Malaseb or Chlorhexaderm shampoo, and bathe her every three day with it – that will speed up the process of getting rid of the ringworm spores. You can get an antifungal cream at the pharmacy, make sure it contains miconazole. Put a thin film on her lesions twice a day. Expect it to take a couple of weeks for the lesions to totally go away, and for no new ones to break out. Treating with the shampoo etc. will help, but it’s really her own immune system that has to kick the ringworm.

you can buy lyme dip from your vet or have them give her the dip & still do the oral meds(pills)

ringworm is not a worm its a bacteria that live under the skin and when the skin is broken ie scratching then it gets infected its kinda the same thing as a impetigo that again is caused by an infection from dirt best thing is go to your local pharmacist and ask for a anti-bacteria cream and use 3 times daily and it should be gone with in a few days and how do i know i work with horses and its very common for them to get just be carefull as you wil be able to catch it keep your kitty away from where you sleep and change his/hers bedding daily and wash your hands after useing the cream and touching your kitten/s its very easy to catch and is very itchy the more you scratch the worst it gets so hope to have helped and good luck sweetxxx
